Privacy policy
This policy explains what data Yuego stores about you, what it's used for, and how you can access, correct, or delete it.
What data we store
If you create an account, we store your username, your email address, your password (never in plain text, always encrypted) and, if you fill them in, your display name, bio, and country. We also store your games, your moves, your rating, your friends, and any challenges you send or receive — the data needed for the game to work.
To provide the service securely, your hosting provider and Cloudflare (which protects the site against attacks) technically process your IP address as part of normal internet traffic — this isn't used to identify you personally beyond what's strictly necessary for the site to work.
What we use it for
We use this data solely to run the game: saving your progress, showing your history, enabling online play and challenges between friends, and sending you the password-reset email when you request it yourself. We don't sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
We use Brevo as our provider for sending the password-reset email — it's the only email we send, and only when you explicitly request it from the login screen.
Cookies
We use a session cookie, needed so you can log in and browse the site — without it, we couldn't keep you identified from one page to the next. If you check "remember me" when logging in, we also store an additional cookie so you don't have to log in again every time you visit; you can clear it whenever you want via "Log out".
How long we keep your data
While your account exists, we keep your data so the game keeps working normally. If you delete your account, we permanently and immediately delete your profile, game history, friendships, and challenges — this deletion never affects the history of other players you've played online, since each player keeps their own independent copy of every game.
Your rights
You can view and correct your profile data at any time from "My account". You can delete your account and all your data entirely from the "Delete account" section in Preferences — it's an immediate, permanent action. Minors
Yuego isn't directed at children under 14, and we don't knowingly request or collect data from anyone under that age.
Changes to this policy
If we make a significant change to this policy, we'll note it on this same page along with the date of the last update.
